Do your days feel long, dark, heavy and painful? Has numbness set in so that you feel like you are just ‘going through the motions’? Are you losing hope in a happier and healthier future? Depression can rob you of joy and negatively impact your relationships and daily life. But healing is possible.
And that’s where True Hope Christian Counseling comes in to help.
We find hope in the midst of depression by integrating research-based psychological approaches with biblical truths. We look to the cross of Jesus and allow the Word to speak to suffering and pain while uncovering thought patterns that may be contributing to the spiral of depression so that true healing can be found.
Our Biblical Approach to Depression Treatment:
At True Hope Christian Counseling, we believe that true healing comes from relationship with Christ and as such, we employ a holistic approach to depression treatment by addressing both spiritual and psychological needs simultaneously.
When thinking of counseling, most first think about more secular approaches. These approaches often focus on finding confidence in yourself and mustering up new found self-worth that has been severely damaged overtime. But it can be difficult to navigate society without feeling influenced by comparison, shame, pressures and outside opinions. Without a solid foundation with which to redefine our worth and the lies we believe about ourselves, the longevity of healing and hope can be shaky and new triggers are likely to send individuals back into a spiral of self-hatred and depressive symptoms.
Through biblical counseling, we integrate research-based psychological techniques including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) with the faith-based principles that define ideology. In this way, we can look to God’s Word to heal from our experiences, low self esteem and destructive behaviors.
God is consistent. His love, righteousness, grace and what he has said about you are consistent and by building a foundation of growth on his Word, we can find true long term hope and healing.
